Why is Tron: Ares bombing?

Tron: Ares, the long-awaited follow-up to the 1982 original and the so-so 2010 reboot, is flopping hard at the box office—proving once again that the Grid might not be ready for another ride.

This time, Jared Leto stars as Ares, a program stranded in the real world who suddenly has to “feel” human emotions (that he keeps calling indescribable), while Tron himself is nowhere to be seen. It’s a wild concept, but audiences just aren’t buying a ticket.
