Michael Madsen, the gravel-voiced tough-guy star of Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill and Donnie Brasco, was found unresponsive at his Malibu home on July 3 and pronounced dead at 67. Los Angeles County deputies say no foul play is suspected and his manager confirmed the cause was cardiac arrest.
Over a four-decade career, Madsen carved out iconic roles in Tarantino classics and indie films alike. He’d been gearing up for new features like Resurrection Road and a poetry collection called Tears For My Father. His sister Virginia paid tribute with a heartfelt eulogy, calling him “thunder and velvet—mischief wrapped in tenderness.”
