Sean and Amanda kick things off reacting to the newest trailers for The Odyssey and Avengers: Doomsday (and even sneak in takes on Zootopia 2 and Avatar: Fire and Ash), then dive into three fresh releases: Paul Feig’s The Housemaid (starring Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried), which they find underwhelming and a sign of what “women’s movies” are looking like in 2025; Jack Black’s Anaconda, labeled a cynical, joyless IP cash-grab; and Song Sung Blue, a Neil Diamond tribute drama with Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson.
Later, director Craig Brewer joins Sean to share how he broke into filmmaking, why music is such a core part of his style, and the surprisingly long, winding road to casting Hudson. Hosts Sean Fennessey and Amanda Dobbins keep the banter lively, with production by Jack Sanders and Jacob Cornett.
