Universal and Imax haven’t officially confirmed, but this early sneak peek is a new level of hype-building that outdoes even the Oppenheimer rollout.
Starring Matt Damon as Odysseus, Nolan’s Greek saga will be shot entirely with Imax cameras—made possible by recent tech advances that slim down those massive rigs. It’s a big bet on premium format: in Oppenheimer, Imax showings pulled in $183.6 million of that film’s $975 million haul, so expect a similar push for this mythic adventure.
