Andy Samberg opened up on a recent episode of Amy Poehler’s Good Hang about the late Andre Braugher, calling him “deeply moral and kind” and crediting his Brooklyn Nine-Nine costar with helping make the precinct sitcom so special. He reflected on how the writers—Mike Schur and Dan Goor—were the same creative team behind Parks and Recreation, and even tapped Poehler for advice before signing on as Detective Jake Peralta.
Samberg also shared that it wasn’t until a family trip to Europe, when fans everywhere recognized him, that he truly grasped how beloved the Emmy-winning show has become since wrapping in 2021. He fondly remembers the camaraderie on set and how Braugher’s presence elevated every scene.
