‘Duster’ Canceled By HBO Max After One Season

After a five-year build-up, J.J. Abrams and LaToya Morgan’s 1970s crime drama Duster—starring Josh Holloway and Rachel Hilson—won’t get a second season. HBO Max dropped the news less than a week after the Season 1 finale.

Despite glowing reviews (92% on Rotten Tomatoes from critics, 83% from viewers) and a spot in HBO Max’s daily Top 10, Duster struggled to drum up buzz or strong viewership. It never cracked Nielsen’s Top 10 streaming originals and only hit #50 on Luminate’s list in its fourth week.
