Julian McMahon, the Aussie actor best known as the swaggering Dr. Christian Troy on Nip/Tuck and as the Human Torch in the early-2000s Fantastic Four films (plus memorable turns on Charmed and FBI: Most Wanted), died July 2 in Clearwater, Florida after a private battle with cancer. He was just 56.

In a statement, his wife Kelly McMahon said Julian “loved life, his family, his friends, his work and his fans,” and that his deepest wish was to bring joy to as many people as possible. The family is asking for privacy as they grieve and to honor the happy memories he created.
