It looks like Season 3 of The Last of Us is already shaking things up—Halley Gross, who co-wrote The Last of Us Part II and cut her teeth on Westworld, has officially bowed out of the HBO show’s day-to-day writing team. She and co-creator Neil Druckmann (who stepped away weeks ago to focus on Naughty Dog’s next big IP, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet) both issued heartfelt statements, thanking the cast, crew and fans before heading off to “rad projects” of their own.
Their exits mark a big turning point for the series as it gears up for Season 3, leaving fans wondering who’ll fill those huge creative shoes and how Ellie and Joel’s story will evolve without two of its original architects.
