The Last of Us Season 3 Loses Another Big Name
Just weeks after co-creator Neil Druckmann announced he was stepping away to focus on Naughty Dog and a new IP, veteran writer Halley Gross (Westworld, The Last of Us Part II) has confirmed she won’t return for Season 3 of HBO’s hit. Gross, who’s been with the show since Day 1, praised the cast, crew and the “love, loss and humanity” they brought to life—and teased some “truly rad projects” on her horizon.
This double departure means Season 3 is officially shaking things up behind the scenes. With the showrunners now in flux, fans will be curious to see who picks up the creative reins—and whether the new team can keep delivering the emotional punch The Last of Us is known for.
