'Young Frankenstein' Reboot Series From Mel Brooks Near FX Pilot Order

FX is gearing up to revive Mel Brooks’ classic 1974 film with a comedy series prequel titled Very Young Frankenstein. Brooks has given his blessing and will executive-produce alongside the creative trio from What We Do in the Shadows—Stefani Robinson (writer/showrunner), Taika Waititi (pilot director) and Garrett Basch—plus Brooks’ longtime partners Kevin Salter and Michael Gruskoff.
20th Television is attached as the studio, and Deadline reports that the project is nearing a pilot order at FX.
