Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne has died at 76, TMZ reports. In a heartfelt statement, the Osbourne family said he passed Tuesday “surrounded by love” and asked for privacy as the cause of death remains unclear. The note was signed by Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis, who are mourning the loss of their beloved patriarch.
Ozzy rose to fame as the original frontman of Black Sabbath, pioneering heavy metal in ’68 alongside Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward. The band scored two Grammys, a 2006 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction and timeless anthems like “Paranoid,” “Iron Man” and “War Pigs.” Despite decades-long battles with addiction, he even reunited with Sabbath for one final performance just weeks ago.
